Welcome to the Magical Place we call Walt Disney World

Honey, I Shrunk the Audience

The first 3-D film I saw in a Disney theme park was “Captain Eeo”, the completely forgettable Michael Jackson film that ran at Disneyland for a short time. So, needless to say, my expectations of “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience” weren’t overly high when I walked into the theatre. Thankfully, the Disney imagineers out did themselves with this one. They call it 3-D, but it’s actually more like 4-D. Not only do the images on the screen jump out at you, but the show incorporates tactile sensations, too. Don’t miss this one! It’s hilarious, and the whole family will love it. Well, almost the whole family. I took my 3 year old, and it scared the pants off him. If you have small children that don’t like loud noises, or are afraid of mice, snakes, or lions, you may want to sit this one out. Actually, if you have your child take off the 3-D glasses and sit on your lap, they’ll miss most of the scary things, so you can do that if you want. The show runs for 25 minutes, so be sure you have enough time.

The story in a nutshell, follows Dr. Wayne Szalinski, the scientist from the “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” series. Dr. Szalinski is about to receive the Inventor of the Year award from the Imagination Institute. And you are invited to attend the ceremony. Of course, things go wrong (what else would you expect?) and the audience ends up being shrunk. A mouse gets duplicated 999 times (if you’re afraid of mice this is a really creepy effect). General chaos ensues. It’s a ton of fun: don’t miss this one.
