The following was written by my 13 year old son. The Tower of Terror is one of his favorite rides.
The Tower of Terror is fun terror ride based on the TV series “The Twilight Zone”.
First, you go through a spider web-filled hallway of a luxurious hotel called the Hollywood Tower Hotel. Once you get through the hallway along with a large group of people, you enter another web-filled room and the door locks behind you. All of a sudden, the lights flicker off, a TV flickers on, and a person tells you about the story of the Tower of Terror and the Twilight Zone. Once upon a time, on a Halloween night, lightning struck the tower, and a whole guest wing disappeared, along with an elevator carrying five people. They were transported instantly into the Twilight Zone.
Once the person finishes his story, you and your group of people are led into the boiler room, where you get in the elevator, where a park assistant tells you, “If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, it’s too late.” The door closes, and you are instantly transported into the Twilight Zone, a place of sights and sounds. This part of the ride is really wierd, because you get a look at the building from outside, but it doesn’t make sense at this part of the ride, since the ride is moving horizontally. You are also visited by the ghostly five people who disappeared when the lightning struck the tower. Then, you are carried upward until you get to a window at the top of the tower.
You won’t be able to get a good enough look at the park, though. Don’t lose your breakfast as you are dropped all 13 stories. The drop is actually 2 seconds, but it seems a whole lot longer. As you reach the bottom, you are pulled back up and dropped again. And again. Remember, if you would rather not experience the sensation of becoming a human yo-yo, sit this one out.
