I have to admit…the first time I visited Disneyworld I slept through the Hall of Presidents. Call it jet lag, call it trying to fit too many things into a small time frame…I sat down in a comfortable chair, they turned out the lights, and my eyes developed a will of thier own.
That being said…the second time I visited I made sure I was well rested and I stayed awake. The Hall of Presidents really is an interesting attraction, even though it’s not full of thrills and excitement.
It begins with a film about the Constitution. After the movie, a curtain goes up and you see anamatronic figures of all the American Presidents, from George Washington through George W. Bush. Just a side note: Disney keeps The Hall of Presidents updated. It closes for refurbishment every time a new president is elected.
Each president’s name is called in a roll call, and they nod. If you look at the other presidents during roll call, you’ll notice that many of them whisper, or fidget when it’s not their turn to nod.
The details of the anamatronic figures are incredibly accurate. Each president is dressed in authentic clothing from their time period. In fact, in some cases Disney couldn’t find authentic material, so they weaved their own! Each figure is recreated to the last detail: jewelry, clothing, hair, shoes, etc.
Although the Hall of Presidents wasn’t my children’s favorite attraction, they did like it. Just make sure all of you are well rested when you sit down!!
