I grew up watching the Muppets. Most of the people in my age group did (I’m 33, in case anyone was wondering). I watched Sesame Street…and saw the Muppets take Manhattan. So I was intrigued by a 3-D Muppet Adventure. With all the zany stunts that Muppets pull, 3-D seemed like just the right format for their constant wackiness. And it is. Muppet*Vision 3-D gives you nonstop 3-D action…actually 4-D action…and at the same time the show is tame enough that you don’t have to worry about it scaring your kids. There’s a loud noise at the end, but that’s pretty small on the scariness factor.
Before the show, you enter a “warehouse” where you’re shown a short video filled with typical muppet antics. Be sure to look around the warehouse…it is filled with prop boxes containing muppet treasures.
The show itself takes place in a large theatre. Dr. Bunson Honeydew and Beaker begin by setting free a 3-D creature named Waldo. In normal muppet fashion, things get completely out of hand.
Muppet*Vision 3-D is the tamest of the 3-D films at Disneyworld. It would be a good idea to expose your children to this one first, just to make sure they’re ready for the whole 3-D experience. Having objects fly at you during a movie can be unsettling for some kids. But the muppets are a good place to test the waters, before tackling “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience” or “It’s Tough to Be a Bug”.
