Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

The following was written my my nine year old son:

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is certainly hard not to spot. It is the ONLY attraction that looks like the rock formations in the state of Mississippi. According to the legend, the mine the ride takes place in is chalk full of gold, and, according to legend, there are prospectors looking for it. But, according to the floods that are happening, they are forbidden to search any longer. So the prospectors, unafraid of the floods, went to party in the saloon over their riches, before they find higher ground.

Before you get on board the 15 row train, make sure you are at least 40 inches tall, and immune to motion sickness, or you’ll have to run to find a place to vomit after riding because there are sharp turns and sudden acceleration, not to mention the loud whistle blowing before acceleration. So hold on to your hats and enjoy the ride!

Kathi again: Big Thunder Mountain, while techinically a thrill ride, isn’t wild or scary enough to be a problem for anyone but small children. And it depends on the child. One of my children thought it was too fast at age five, while another loved it at age three. You obviously know your children best.
