The Haunted Mansion

Welcome to the home of 999 ghosts…but there’s always room for one more! The Haunted Mansion looks frigtening from the outside, but on the inside it’s more of a fun romp through a “haunted” castle then a ride designed to scare anyone. I took a three year old on it, and he wanted to jump right back in line when we were done. That about tells you how scary The Haunted Mansion is.

Your journey through the mansion begins in the portrait hall, where all seems normal until the floor starts dropping. Or is the ceiling rising? Anyway, check out the pictures on the walls as the room elongates. From the portrait hall, you’ll continue your tour in a “doom buggy”. It doesn’t matter how many times you ride, there’s so much to see in the mansion that you’ll always notice something new. Watch for the hitchhiking ghosts…it’s a neat visual trick. Kids especially will get a kick out of it.

I’ve never seen a horrible wait for The Haunted Mansion, although it does get crowded during busy seasons. The line moves fairly fast, and the tombstones at the entrace are entertaining enough to make the time go by quickly.

Just a bit of trivia…The Haunted Mansion is the only place where they get it dirty on purpose instead of cleaning it. They import dust and cobwebs to make the mansion look abandoned.
