Ever dream of walking straight onto a ride without waiting in line? Well, Disney’s Fastpass won’t exactly let you do that, but it’s as close as you’re ever going to get. Disney created FastPass to make waiting easier on guests, and to more evenly distribute the lines on their most popular attractions. Apparently the system is working, because Disney keeps adding more and more rides to the FastPass system.
Okay…this is how FastPass works. When you enter a Disney park, you have a ticket. Some rides have a machine in front of them that says FastPass over it. Walk up to the machine and insert your ticket. The machine will then spit your ticket back at you, as well as give you a piece of paper with two times on it. If you come back to the ride between those two times, you can use the FastPass line and bypass the regular line for the ride. So you virtually walk on the ride without waiting.
FastPass is a lifesaver during busy times of the year. Watch out, though…when all the FastPass times are gone, the machine shuts down. So go get your FastPass for popular rides early on in the day.
The ticket says that you can’t get another FastPass for a different ride until you have used the one you have. Personally, I’ve never found that to be true. You can always try…the worst that will happen is that the FastPass machine will tell you no.
FastPass is a free service that’s available to all guests at a Disney park. I’m amazed at how many people don’t use the service. It’s free…it’s easy…it allows you to go on more rides…it cuts down your waiting time…what’s not to like?
